Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders has had an impressive second season in charge of the program. Now, in the Big 12 Conference, the team rapidly improved on their 4-8 season last year, staying in contention for the Conference championship game until the final week of the season.

Two players who were vital for this improvement were Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, who have NIL values according to On3.com of $6.2 million and $5.2 million, respectively.

The trio were in New York City over the weekend for the Heisman Trophy ceremony, for which Travis Hunter was nominated and later won the award.

In a "behind the scenes" video, Deion was seen having a little bit of fun with the two stars on the set of a talk show. This led Shedeur to make this remark to the camera:

"He almost hurt his own foot ... He's trying to have fun. He's trying to be a kid."

There is no surprise that Deion Sanders is trying to have some fun with these two players. He has been with them for all of their college football careers and has seen them develop into strong players.

Additionally, both of them are leaving the Buffaloes program and college football soon as they have declared for the 2025 NFL draft. Both of them are tipped to be high first-round picks.

This could be the last real time that Travis Hunter can spend with Deion Sanders while he is his coach. Sanders has been able to transform Hunter into a remarkable two-way player, who has just been crowned the Heisman Trophy winner, becoming the best player in college football this season.

Considering all of these facts, there is no surprise that Sanders cannot hide his enthusiasm at this moment.

Deion Sanders reacts to a report about his son

Deion Sanders has also given his reaction to reports that Shedeur Sanders would refuse to play for the New York Giants if the NFL drafted him.

Posting on X, Sanders said in response to the offending report:

"A lie don’t care who tells it. Please stop trying to become relevant by misrepresenting my son. God bless you."

This means that Shedeur would play for the Giants if they drafted him. There is a possibility of this happening, as the Giants are more than likely to have a top draft pick and need a quarterback.

However, while Sanders' remarks keep all doors open, Deion's personal impact on proceedings needs to be stated. He has previously said that he would intervene if the "wrong team" drafts his son. What is not known is if the Giants are the "wrong team."
