Travis Hunter has shined in the 2024 college football season. With his outstanding performance for Colorado, the two-way star has emerged as one of the frontrunners for the Heisman Trophy, and the odds of him claiming the coveted award continue to rise each week.

On his podcast "All Facts No Brakes with Keyshawn Johnson," Keyshawn Johnson shared his prediction for Hunter’s Heisman chances. Discussing the frontrunners ahead of Week 11, Johnson doesn’t just envision Hunter securing the Heisman over players like Ashton Jeanty, but winning other prestigious awards by season's end.

“He’s not just going to win the Heisman,” Johnson said. “I got him in the trifecta. I got him the Heisman, the Biletnikoff and the Thorpe. That's what I got him. He's a trifecta."
"Just think about it. You just talked about the statistical numbers at the receiver position, that's what everybody else that's a top receiver has. And you already know as defensive back what he is. Then you put those two together, it wins him the Heisman."

Travis Hunter makes a case for the Heisman Trophy

Travis Hunter Travis Hunter spoke confidently about his Heisman candidacy. Known for his dominant play as both a receiver and defensive back, Hunter believes his contributions this season make him a strong candidate for the award.

“Bro the crazy part is when people say I’m not top five at receiver, top five at DB, what are you all watching,” Hunter said on "2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders." “Every game plan for the opposing team has to revolve around me bro … and they still don’t stop me."
“So like, c’mon bro. I’ve allowed no touchdowns this season … while I’ve been hurt … At receiver bro, ain’t nobody ever stop me. I went nine-for-nine last week. That’s a lot of targets bro.”

Hunter's performance this season has been nothing short of remarkable. Offensively, he's hauled in 60 receptions for 757 yards, averaging 12.6 yards per catch with eight touchdowns. This ranks him among the top players in the wide receiver position.

On the defensive side, he's been equally impactful with 20 tackles, seven pass breakups, two interceptions and a forced fumble, ranking among the top cornerbacks in the country. Hunters’ versatility and dominance on both sides of the ball set him apart.

Travis Hunter is in the Heisman conversation alongside Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, Miami quarterback Cam Ward and Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel. However, Hunter's unique impact as a standout at both wide receiver and defensive back makes him a distinctive contender.
