Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons has not been impressed with Texas QB Quinn Ewers' performance this season. Ewers has been inconsistent with his performance for the Longhorns. Despite having another year of eligibility left, Ewers is expected to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft.
In a tweet via his X, Parsons talked about how Quinn Ewers' performance this season has significantly dropped from what he showcased last season. The Texas QB also dealt with an injury that led him to miss out on a few games this season. Backup QB Arch Manning took over as the starting QB during those games and earned the trust of the Longhorns fanbase with his performance.
"I'm sorry I get the loyalty for Quinn Ewers because the draft but man... he just hasn't been himself this year!!"
This is not the first time that the Dallas Cowboys star expressed his frustration over Ewers' performance. During their regular season loss to the Georgia Bulldogs back in October, Micah Parsons had tweeted about how Arch Manning had better momentum with the offense than Ewers on the field. In that game, Ewers recorded a total of 211 yards and two TDs passing while throwing for one interception.
"Can't lie. It's hard to compare competition but Archie had this offense way more electrifying!! Man idk both good QBs!!"
The Longhorns again faced the Bulldogs in the SEC Championship game, where Ewers once again had an underwhelming performance. He tallied 358 yards and one touchdown passing while throwing two interceptions, failing to help his team lift the SEC trophy in their debut campaign.
However, Ewers did redeem himself a bit and helped the Longhorns win their first two games in this year's 12-team college football playoffs.
Quinn Ewers fails to help Texas reach the national championship
The Ohio State Buckeyes took home the victory in their Cotton Bowl Classic CFP semifinal showdown against the Longhorns. Steve Sakisian's team failed to defend the offensive pressure of the Buckeyes, resulting in them losing 28-14.
Late in the fourth quarter, an 82-yard fumble during a play by Quinn Ewers resulted in Ohio State capitalizing and Jack Sawyer scoring a touchdown. This was the final nail in the coffin for the Longhorns who had no means of making a comeback.
Ewers finished the game with a total of 283 yards and two touchdowns passing and an interception to his name. Ohio State will now take on Notre Dame in the national championship game scheduled to be played on January 20.
