On Monday, Coach Prime cleared the air about his sons, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders, and their potential futures in the NFL. Deion Sanders tweeted dismissing some of the false news about the two Colorado stars, suggesting that he was fed up with the narratives and unverified reports about where his kids might land in the big league.
A day after Sanders defended his kids, sports analyst Shannon Sharpe praised the CU coach. On Tuesday's episode of his "Nightwatch" podcast on YouTube, Sharpe was joined by former NFL star, Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson, and the two discussed how Sanders dealt with some of the false reports around Shedeur and Shilo.
"He [Deion Sanders] has been dealing with this his entire career," Sharpe said. "He's been primed his entire career and he knows how to handle it. And I don't know how he does it, because people have been taking shots at him since he got to the Falcons." (3:52)
In his tweet, Coach Prime rubbished some rumors about the "idiots" spreading misinformation about Shedeur and Shilo's draft preferences.
Coach Prime's Colorado suffers defeat against BYU in 2024 Alamo Bowl
Deion Sanders' Colorado suffered a 36–14 defeat against fellow Big 12 rival BYU in the Alamo Bowl game on Saturday, its fourth overall defeat of the season as it finished 2024 with a 9-4 record.
Nonetheless, under Sanders, Colorado has shown massive improvement. The Buffs hired Coach Prime in Dec. 2022. Sanders led Colorado to a 4-8 record in his first season at the helm, but they failed to secure a bowl game.
However, Colorado was close to reaching the College Football Playoff this year. Sanders' sons, Shedeur and Shilo, played key roles for the team as the Buffs got bowl eligibility.
While Shedeur and Shilo Sanders have plans to declare for the 2025 NFL draft, Sanders is expecting to stay put at Colorado.
