Travis Hunter has had an exceptional collegiate career under the guidance of Deion Sanders. He flipped his commitment from Florida State to play for Coach Prime in 2022 as part of the Jackson State Tigers. Hunter then followed him to Colorado last season where he established himself as one of the best two-way players in college.

After winning the 2023 Paul Hornung Award, Travis Hunter has again been influential on both sides of the ball this season for the Buffs. His contributions have helped the team secure an 8-2 campaign and become a contender for the Big 12 title apart from qualifying for the Bowl games.

During an interview on Thursday, the Colorado two-way star confirmed that he was going to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft and begin his professional journey. Hunter also said he is going to continue being a two-way player ever after being drafted.

Fans took to social media to share their thoughts and perspectives on Hunter's future as a two-way player in the NFL.

One fan bluntly stated that this will be the reason for his downfall in the NFL.

"I'm going to say this in the nicest way possible... he's going to ruin his career playing both ways as a pro."

Another fan believes that Travis Hunter might just end up playing as a cornerback in the NFL.

"He might plan on playing both ways. But he's probably going to play CB only. He's gonna learn how hard it is just to play one position."

This fan commented that Hunter's decision to play on both sides of the ball in the NFL will help him improve his talents further.

"This may be a hot take but this is a good decision. I'd rather have him be very good at 2 things than elite in 1 thing."

Another fan stated that Hunter is indeed valuable as a two-way player.

"I agree. Dude is unreal on both sides of the ball, so why limit him. I'd probably try to keep his offensive snaps down a little bit. Maybe 70% of the offensive plays. Then, let him ball out on defense.

One fan wrote that NFL coaches will not allow him to play both ways.

"No coach letting that happen."

This fan believes that Hunter's decision is not suitable for the long run.

"I mean how fast till he realizes that will not make for a long career. The level of play and never have break will steam roll him. Will NFL coaches even let him lol."

Jason Whitlock shares harsh take on Travis Hunter's offensive prowess

Travis Hunter has been influential for Colorado on offense this season, tallying 911 yards and nine touchdowns receiving. He is considered to be the Heisman favorite this season alongside Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty.

Despite his contributions, Jason Whitlock is not convinced by Hunter's offensive prowess. During his show on Tuesday, Whitlock stated that QB Shedeur Sanders is the reason why Colorado's offense is flourishing and not because of Hunter.

He stated that without Shedeur, the Buffs would not have secured an 8-2 campaign heading into Week 13.

"The most important player on Colorado's roster is named Shedeur Sanders, not Travis Hunter. Without him, you're looking at a 6-4 team instead of an 8-2. He's not needed on offense. They have enough talented receivers."

With just two games remaining in the regular season, Travis Hunter is locked in to finish his collegiate journey with some success. It will be interesting to see if he goes on to win the Heisman this season.
