After limited playing time during his first year, Arch Manning has had the opportunity on the gridiron for the Texas Longhorns this season. The freshman quarterback has started two games, leading the Longhorns to victory on both occasions, showcasing his growth and potential as a leader for the team.

Coach Steve Sarkisian shared his thoughts on Arch Manning's personality during an appearance on "The Jim Rome Show" on Wednesday. He spoke highly of Arch's demeanor and potential on and off the field, offering insight into the quarterback's amazing personality.

"First of all, Arch is a great kid, he was a joy to recruit," Sarkisian said. "...He came here to the University of Texas because this is where he wanted to be, it was a childhood dream of his.
"But he came in with a ton of humility, you know, [he's] an extremely humble young man, he's a great teammate. If his name wasn't Manning on the back of his jersey, you wouldn't know it by the way he carries himself, the type of teammate that he is," he added.

Manning arrived at Texas as the No. 1 recruit in the class of 2023. He has so far lived up to the billing this season, playing in the absence of starter Quinn Ewers.

Steve Sarkisian comments on how relationship with Quinn Ewers has helped Arch Manning

Speaking further on "The Jim Rome Show," Sarkisian commented on the relationship between Arch Manning and Quinn Ewers. He highlighted that the rapport between the two has played a key role in Manning's ability to perform in the last two games.

Sarkisian also emphasized that it is Manning's personal determination and drive to improve as an athlete that has been the real catalyst for his early success on the field.

"I think the rapport that he and Quinn have with one another has led to a lot of his success because I think he's very coachable, he wants to learn, he can learn from others," Sarkisian said.
"But his development I think has been the biggest key from where he was a year and a half ago when he first got here in spring practice to the way he played last weekend. That's a credit to his work ethic, it's a credit to the staff of working with him," he added.

While Ewers was out of action for the last two games, the quarterback offered his full support to see Manning lead Texas to a 5-0 record so far this season. Manning has registered 901 passing yards for nine touchdowns with two interceptions. Meanwhile, Ewers has 691 yards for eight touchdowns and two picks.

The Longhorns take on the Oklahoma Sooners (4-1) next on Oct. 12, it will be interesting to see who Steve Sarkisian decides to start under center.
