America eagerly awaits to know who will win the Heisman Trophy: Travis Hunter or Ashton Jeanty? While the finalists haven't yet been announced, public opinion would agree that Colorado's two-way sensation and Boise State's running back star are the ones that stand a chance.

At the moment, everyone seems ready to give their thoughts on who they think should win it. Former NFL safety Charles Woodson was one of those to jump into the discussion, stating the following about Travis Hunter on the "Rich Eisen Show":

"In my opinion, he's the best player in college football (Travis Hunter) ... He's not just out there playing reps ... The production is what puts him over the top for me, not just the amount of plays."

Woodson's endorsement is a huge one for Travis Hunter, as the former player won the award while playing for Michigan in the 1997 season. Every former Heisman winner gets a vote, so essentially Hunter has already secured one vote (although Woodson did state that he hadn't voted yet).

The former Michigan safety also praised Travis Hunter though. He highlighted how impressive it is that the Buffaloes star can play between 100-120 snaps in every game for Colorado.

Boise State's Spencer Danielson thinks Travis Hunter shouldn't even be in the Heisman conversation

Not many would bat an eye if told that Boise State coach Spencer Danielson thinks Ashton Jeanty should win the Heisman. But many will be surprised to hear that he doesn't think that Hunter belongs in the conversation. At Monday's press conference, the Broncos coach had this to say about the Heisman race:

“Ashton Jeanty is the best football player in the country, and for me, if you’re one of the best players in the country, you play in a championship game.”

The remark seems aimed at Travis Hunter and Colorado, who didn't reach the Big 12 championship game mainly because of a defeat to Kansas in Week 13.

Boise State did reach the championship game of the Mountain West Conference, in which it will face off against the UNLV Rebels on Friday, Dec. 6.

The voting for the Heisman has already started, with the finalists set to be announced on Dec. 9. The award ceremony will take place on Dec. 14 at the Lincoln Center in New York City.
