Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders has a difficult task at hand after their Alamo Bowl showdown against BYU. This season is the final campaign for some of the team's most talented players like Travis Hunter and Sanders' sons Shedeur and Shilo. The opening of the transfer portal has seen a few players deciding to leave Boulder.

One player who entered his name earlier this month in the portal was LB Jeremiah Brown. He began his collegiate journey at Jackson State under Deion Sanders before arriving in Boulder. Making on;t four appearances this season in the Big 12, he redshirted the season and is now planning to return to Colorado.

Sanders was asked about his thoughts after Jeremiah Brown changed his decision to leave the program through the transfer portal. Coach Prime said that he was happy that Brown decided to stay with the program and considers Brown as his own child.

"I'm happy," Coach Prime said. "Jeremiah is like my kid man. He's like my kid....Jeremiah took a chance on me and he came to Jackson. He's always been a hard worker, always did his job and always been just a good dude.
"I was in Texas relax and praying.....When I saw that happen I'm like why didn't Jeremiah call me? He calls me about everything else....So I knew he was being influenced by something else. So when I got back, you know he came to the office and I was like, 'You changed, ever since you got them pretty new teeth in your mouth you changed.' And that broke the ice."

The Colorado Buffaloes had a 9-3 campaign in the Big 12 this season. They also qualified for their first Bowl game appearance since the 2020 season, where they take on the BYU Cougars in the Alamo Bowl showdown on Dec. 28.

In the limited time Jeremiah Brown got on the field, he tallied six tackles for the program. He mostly played as a special team member on kickoff and punt coverage.

CFB insider impressed with Deion Sanders' conviction and subtle recruiting pitch during Travis Hunter's Heisman victory

Two-way star Travis Hunter was crowned the Heisman winner this season. He had an incredible campaign, recording 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns receiving on offense and 31 total tackles along with four interceptions and 11 pass breakups as a cornerback.

CFB insider Adam Breneman was impressed with Deion Sanders' conviction of helping players realize their full potential on the field:

"Travis Hunter's Heisman win was really proof of Deion Sanders vision. I kept thinking about how Deion has been unconventional in his coaching. And it's trickled down to his players in Travis Hunter. Really validation of Deion Sanders' coaching philosophy.
"It's trailblazing for future recruits too. You look at what Travis Hunter has done. From flipping from Florida State as the No.1 recruit in the country, to go to Jackson State to play for Deion Sanders, to then go to Colorado. I think it sends a powerful message that recruits for big time players, its okay to chart your own path."

The Buffs failed to compete for the Big 12 title this season, as they lost to the Kansas Jayhawks in Week 13. While his kids prepare for their professional journey in the NFL, Coach Prime will focus on building a new team to be a conference contender next season.
