Alabama Crimson Tide coach Kalen DeBoer has heaped praise on quarterback Jalen Milroe. Milroe returned to Alabama and will once again be their starting quarterback.
Last season, Milroe struggled and was even benched at points, but he reclaimed his starting job and led Alabama to the playoffs. Entering 2024, the Crimson Tide have a new coach in DeBoer who has been impressed with Milroe's play.
"I thought yesterday and today took the best steps I’ve seen since I’ve been here. The way he’s intentional about coming out. Even not just what you say, but how you do things. What your body language is and he gets that. That’s important, but he’s actually just really leading that way and then it leads to really him playing well and the other guys following suit so today he came out today again and really today threw the deep ball, probably as well as I’ve seen him throw," DeBoer said, via SI.

It was massive praise from DeBoer for his quarterback, who will need to have a great season for Alabama to reach their goal of winning a national championship.
Last season, Milroe went 187-for-284 for 2,834 yards, 23 touchdowns and six interceptions.
Kalen DeBoer excited about Alabama's offense with Jalen Milroe at the helm
Ahead of the 2024 season, DeBoer says he has been pushing Milroe a lot to take his game to the next level.
DeBoer says what he has seen from his offense has excited him, as he believes they can have success in 2024.
"I’m pushing him, I know Coach Sheridan is too every day, just like those details, man be on it. He’s holding himself to a high standard, it’s not just all talk... I'm excited because we have a lot in store for our offense," DeBoer added.
DeBoer is entering his first year as Alabama coach after replacing Nick Saban, who retired after the 2023 season. He was previously the coach of the Washington Huskies.
Alabama will open its 2024 season at home on August 31 against Western Kentucky.
