Both Shilo Sanders and Shedeur Sanders followed their dad Coach Prime to Boulder from Jackson State last season. Shilo began his collegiate career with South Carolina in 2019. He then transferred to Jackson State in 2021 and spent two seasons before arriving in Colorado.
Last season during his debut for the Buffs, Shilo Sanders was one of Coach Prime's important players on defense. Recently, he decided to join Deion Sanders Jr. and appeared on Shedeur's podcast called "2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders." On the podcast, the three brothers discussed Coach Prime's strict side and what happens when he has a bad day.
"Then they [the coaching staff] get back to me like, 'Oh your dad on today'. Like, come on bro, I don't know what affect's his day," Shilo said. "He'd be too busy with me. He'd be watching me the whole day bro, watching me the whole practice bro. Standing right behind me. I can't even back, I can't even make the right breaks bruh cause he just in my way." (4:15)
Shilo Sanders is currently gearing up for his final season of college football. He will be looking forward to helping the Buffs secure a successful campaign in their Big 12 reunion this year before declaring for the 2025 NFL draft along with his quarterback brother. He led the program in tackles with a total of 70 last year.
Deion Sanders names Shilo Sanders as the "No.1 son for the month" during Big 12 media days
Coach Prime was accompanied by both Shilo and Shedeur during the recent Big 12 media days. Fans of the Sanders family know he has his own way of ranking his children.
During an interview, the Colorado head coach came forward to announce that Shilo Sanders replaced Shedeur as the "No.1 son" for the time being. Deion Sanders then gave his reasons for the same.
"You're the No. 1 son this month. I'll give you that," Coach Prime said. "You're the kid that keeps me on my knees, keep my knee pads on. You keep me in face of the Lord and it keeps me prayerful."
After a 4-8 campaign last year, Deion Sanders will be looking to at least qualify for the bowl games this year as a member of the Big 12 before his sons make their transition into the NFL. It will be interesting to see if his offseason revamp of the roster and coaching staff proves fruitful on the gridiron.
