Many college football fans had ideas about which Group of Five programs would make the 2024 College Football Playoff - the Boise State Broncos were one of the names in the mix.
Running back Ashton Jeany has taken the college football world by storm, putting Boise State on the map in the process for those who didn't see it coming. Now, fans are picking Boise State to make the bracket not just as a prediction but as a desire to watch Jeanty on the biggest stage.
That flooding of support has inspired Jeanty to pave the way for future Broncos with his newest initiative: the Ashton Jeanty Endowed Scholarship for Football.
“I’m proud to be launching a campaign to raise money for an endowed scholarship in my name: the Ashton Jeanty Endowed Scholarship for Football,” Jeanty said on the campaign’s webpage. “I’m asking for your support so that the legacy I have at Boise State is felt both on and off the field."

The fund is designed to set up future Broncos football players for long-term, sustained success on and off the field. It will provide money to kids pursuing football under circumstances of financial insecurity. It will likely attract high-profile candidates who will require a lot of scholarship money to get commitments.
“That’s the same legacy I’d like to have here at Boise State. I want the student-athletes that come after me to have the same support I’ve felt. I want to help clear obstacles for them, too,” Jeanty said.
The money from the fund will benefit both sides: the university will be able to provide more scholarship money to players they want to give roster spots to, and the kids who might not have as many resources will be able to have an easier path to affording college without having to sacrifice their football dreams.
Boise State, ranked No. 17 with a 5-1 record, will take on the UNLV Rebels this Friday at 10:30 p.m. ET. Jeanty, a top Heisman contender this season, will enter the game with 1,248 rushing yards and 17 rushing touchdowns.
