Since the week began, California has been devastated by wildfires that have swept across Los Angeles, forcing residents to flee their homes. According to Yahoo Sports, the fires have forced over 70,000 people to evacuate their homes while causing five deaths and the destruction of more than 1,000 structures.

In a clip posted on his Instagram account on Wednesday, Colorado coach Deion Sanders' son Shilo Sanders questioned the origin of the wildfires that have been raging through California.

"I just don't understand wildfires," Shilo Sanders said. "How can you not put out a fire? With all the firefighters we have, all the water that's in California, how can you not just put out a fire? Where does it start from? I'm from Texas, so we don't understand how does something just catch on fire out of nowhere.
"There's someone that's running around in L.A., California, that's just lighting things on fire that we don't know who it is. They're gonna find out who it is, there's no way it just spawns out of nowhere. It's not even that hot in California."

Rose Bowl under wildfires evacuation orders

The college football world was directly affected by the raging wildfires in California after AP News reported on Wednesday evening that the Rose Bowl is under evacuation orders by the authorities.

“At least four separate blazes were burning in the metropolitan area, from the Pacific Coast inland to Pasadena, home of the famed Rose Parade,” the report stated.
“With thousands of firefighters already attacking the flames, the Los Angeles Fire Department put out a plea for off-duty firefighters to help, and weather conditions were too windy for firefighting aircraft to fly, further hampering the fight. Fire officials hoped to get the flights up later Wednesday.”

The Rose Bowl recently hosted the clash between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Oregon Ducks which was won 41-21 by coach Ryan Day's team to proceed to the Cotton Bowl against the Texas Longhorns.

The fires have also impacted the NFL. The Monday night playoff game between the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams is set to be played at SoFi Stadium. But the league plans to move it to State Farm Stadium, Arizona, as a contingency, as per Yahoo Sports.
