The franchise released a statement before the release date highlighting the enthusiasm for the game from college football fans.
"To say we’ve been blown away by the excitement, energy and anticipation around College Football 25 over the past few months would be an understatement," the statement read. “Just like you, our team has had July 19 circled for months as the culmination of so much work and dedication to build this game, and the chance to see it in players’ hands for the first time.”
The uptake for the game on day one of its release despite a few bugs fixed by a patch has confirmed to fans and developers that the void left by the game's hiatus has not been reliably filled by any other game since 2013.
