July 19 was a date penciled in for many fans as the day that the much-anticipated EA Sports College Football 25 game would finally come back, after 11 years.

Some fans who could not wait opted to pay for the Deluxe version which was available for purchase on July 16. But most fans will get to play the game on the mass release date.

The game's size is slated to be 27 GB (PS5) and 32.4 GB (Xbox). But with more updates, as the franchise fixes bugs after the release date, that size could increase. The franchise announced that ahead of its release, over 700,000 fans were already online.

The game will be available on PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X|S.

EA Sports College Football 25 increases server capacity to handle demand

Ever since it was announced in 2021 that the EA Sports CFB 25 game was making a comeback, fans of the game had been salivating at the prospect.

As updates trickled in and the July 19 D-day approached, the command over the market that the game holds was apparent.

Just before the early release of the game on July 16, the CFB X account that gives updates posted that they had increased server capacity to handle the demand of fans.

"Alright College Football 25 fans, huddle up! From our team to yours, we stand ready as we approach the official Early Access for #CFB25 at midnight tonight. Thank you ALL, for your passion for College Football 25, it’s more than we could have ever imagined! So much so, that we are increasing server capacity and will continue to test and add additional capacity throughout launch. Tune into this channel for any updates throughout the day!"

In a blog post during launch week, the franchise further emphasized the excitement that had accompanied the release of the game.

"To say we’ve been blown away by the excitement, energy and anticipation around College Football 25 over the past few months would be an understatement," the statement read. “Just like you, our team has had July 19 circled for months as the culmination of so much work and dedication to build this game, and the chance to see it in players’ hands for the first time.”

Not many college football fans of the game will be getting a lot of sleep this weekend after the standard release of the game.
