For fans who love College Football 25 and want to team up with a friend to throw down on the opposition, there's good news and bad news. The good news is that it is possible to play 2v2. The bad news is that it's a fairly limited experience only available in one gameplay mode.
To enjoy 2v2 action, players will need to use the Ultimate Team mode, and here's how:
How to Play 2v2 in College Football 25?
Step 1: Pre-Game Preparation
To play 2v2, players must make sure that their cross-play option is turned on. This is essential for accessing the feature. Once that is activated, players can only engage in 2v2 (or 3v3) gameplay within the Ultimate Team mode.
Next, players should select "Squads Regular Season" from the available options. At that point, the "Invite Friends" screen will appear, after which players can either add one or two friends depending on whether they're seeking 2v2 or 3v3 gameplay. Inviting friends requires knowing their ID or platform identifier.
Step 2: Assigning Roles
While up to 3 players can team up, they'll be playing in different roles. The options are head coach, passer and linebacker. For a 2v2 setup, one player can take the offense and the other can take the defense. In 3v3 mode, things get a bit more complicated.
Step 3: Waiting for a game
Co-op gameplay can be slow at times because it depends on finding opponents who are also playing 2v2 or 3v3 games. Sometimes, finding a game is pretty quick, other times, it may take a few minutes.
Problems With 2v2 (or 3v3) gameplay in College Football 25
The biggest issue many players have noted is that 2v2 co-op play is limited to Ultimate Team mode, which is very different than most other modes in CF25.
Players complete micro-transactions to earn the ability to purchase better players and upgrades. Many disapproved of this particular mode because it allows some players to purchase points and gain higher abilities. So many Ultimate Team standouts are the product of money and not hours spent grinding in the game.
That aside, at the present time, EA has not announced plans to move beyond Ultimate Team mode with co-op play.
