Coach Prime could be considering amputating his toes from his left foot after a surgeon's suggestion. Deion Sanders has faced issues with his feet after his long NFL career.
Sanders hasn't had issues staying on the sidelines this season to be with the No. 20 Colorado Buffaloes. Nevertheless, Coach Prime's remaining toes on his left foot are becoming an issue again. In Thursday's upload from "Well off Media," Sanders was getting a foot massage from a physician in his office.
He said that the three toes were starting to turn right. Coach Prime didn't say if he was experiencing pain. However, the physician said she had spoken to his surgeon, who asked if he would consider another amputation.
Sanders responded jokingly, noting that his left shoe size would change from an 11 and a half to a four if he did it.
"How is somebody going to ask how attached to the toes is he? You start laughing. Dog, if they take these, I'm wearing a size four," Sanders said.
The physician said the toes would never straighten, and the coach doesn't need amputation if it doesn't hurt. Coach Prime looked at the camera and asked fans if he should consider it.
"What ya'll think?" Sanders said. "Should I just let the whole three homies? Should I let them get the three homies that are left? The three homies left has been good to me dog. I still can beat half of ya'll daddies running. Believe that."
Coach Prime's blood clot issues in recent years
Coach Prime has a history of blood clot issues that resulted in the amputation of his big toe and the toe closest to it on his left foot in 2021. Deion Sanders also had blood clot issues in his legs and thighs, which have been resolved. The NFL legend had his final surgery last year on his legs. After 12 surgeries, Sanders can move around better and jog at his own pace.
On Jan. 6, he posted a video of himself jogging on Colorado's practice field on Instagram.
Sanders doesn't seem to be in a rush to decide if he wants to amputate his remaining toes. The fact that the toes aren't causing him pain is a positive sign that he may not try to have another surgery.
On Dec. 28, he will be on the sideline to coach Colorado (9-3) in its postseason matchup against No. 17 BYU Cougars (10-2) in the Valero Alamo Bowl.
