Hugh Freeze will enter his second season as Auburn's coach in 2024 and his training camp lessons are in full flow. Freeze's daughter Madison was also present at one of his training camps and gave her Instagram followers a sneak peek of the Tigers' retreat session.
On her Instagram story, Madison uploaded a picture of Hugh addressing his Auburn team in a meeting.
In his first season at Auburn, Freeze led the team to a 6-7 record. The Tigers qualified for a bowl game but suffered a 31-13 loss against Maryland in the Music City Bowl game.
Freeze will aim to post a winning record for the Tigers in the 2024 season.
Who is Hugh Freeze's starting quarterback at Auburn for the 2024 season?
As things stand, Payton Thorne is expected to start as Auburn's quarterback for the 2024 season. The signal-caller was also present at the team's Southeastern Conference Media Days in July, along with coach Hugh Freeze.
While speaking to reporters, Thorne addressed the new offseason arrivals at Auburn.
“A huge difference,” Thorne said. “Last year getting here in the middle of summer, obviously that's not ideal going into a new offense, a new team, a new atmosphere. Now we have a set plan. You're familiar with everything. There's going to be more confidence that comes with that.
"I think that good things are coming because of that. My confidence comes from the preparation that we've put in. I think it's been a really good offseason. I'm excited for what we have to come. We've got some new weapons.”
Thorne transferred to Auburn ahead of the 2023 season. He played three years at Michigan State before joining the Tigers.
In his first year at Auburn, Thorne recorded 1,755 yards and 16 touchdowns on 162 passes. He also rushed for three touchdowns.
Thorne is expected to play a critical role for Auburn in the upcoming season, leading the team's offense.
Auburn will begin its 2024 season by hosting Alabama A&M on Aug. 31.
