On episode 2 of the '2Legendary' podcast, host and quarterback Shedeur Sanders spoke about his hesitation to pursue a music career. Shedeur was joined by his brothers, Shilo and Deion Sanders Jr., and they discussed their music projects.
Shilo, who plays safety for Colorado, mentioned that he's working on an album and aims to create ten standout songs. However, Sanders Jr. offered brotherly advice, suggesting a shorter album with five to seven tracks might be more impactful.
In the next moment, Shedeur explained why he's holding off on releasing music:
“I can't drop bro until I get drafted… not because lyrics, cuz they just tried to paint a picture of me… right now it's just not good. Right now it's no point.” [25:40]
Signal caller Shedeur said he could not drop anything because people might misinterpret it. It's just not the right time, according to him. Shedeur also shared his thoughts on music preferences, mentioning that some rappers are too intense for his taste.
“I can't listen to because… they talking too tough… don't like they just be doing too much… when they talk about like a lot of guns and all that,” he said.
Is Shedeur Sanders a top contender for the 2025 NFL Draft?
Shedeur Sanders, with his $4.8 million NIL empire, is quickly becoming a rising star. He's already partnered with major brands like Beats by Dre, Under Armour, and Tom Brady's clothing line, Brady. But is he a top contender for the 2025 NFL Draft?
Opinions are mixed. Sports Illustrated reports that Sanders has drawn comparisons to NFL quarterbacks like Joe Burrow, Tyrod Taylor and Geno Smith. An Atlantic Football Conference North scout sees a bit of Burrow in Sanders, as he handles pressure easily, while others spot the physical traits of Taylor.
However, with Colorado's offense struggling late in the season, Sanders must sharpen his skills to climb the draft boards. Some reports suggest that if the Dallas Cowboys manage to draft Sanders, he could eventually step in as Dak Prescott's successor. Ultimately, QB Sanders' draft stock will largely depend on how he performs in the 2024 season for the Colorado Buffaloes.
