Michigan RB Donovan Edwards reveals his reaction after appearing on EA Sports’ CFB ‘25 cover

Donovan Edwards doesn't think he deserves to be on the cover of the EA Sports College Football 25 video game. In an interview with 247 Sports, he revealed that he called his former Michigan teammate Blake Corum after getting the confirmation about the cover. He also talked about his initial reaction to the honor which he conveyed to his 2023 running back partner.

Edwards was one of the three college athletes chosen for the cover of the much-anticipated video game. He also appeared on the cover of the game's deluxe edition along with several others. Here is what the Michigan Wolverines running back said he told his former teammate upon getting the news.

“I called Blake when I got the call, and I was like, man. This is just crazy because, like, I always think I can do better. I’m very hard on myself, right? I told him, I was like, ‘I don't even deserve to be on here. Like, I didn't even have a great season to even be on the cover of this game man,’” Edwards revealed to Brandon Marcello.

Blake Corum told Donovan Edwards that he deserved to be on the cover as he had gone through so much growth mentally, emotionally and spiritually. According to Corum, God had blessed Edwards to be where he was. The Los Angeles Rams RB also predicted that Edwards would have a big season in the upcoming year.

Who else made it to the CFB 25 cover along with Donovan Edwards?

Along with Donovan Edwards, two other players made it to the cover of the EA Sports College Football 25 game’s Standard Edition. They are the Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers and Colorado Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter.

The three also appear on the game's deluxe edition cover along with the likes of Georgia Bulldogs QB Carson Beck, Alabama QB Jalen Milroe and Ohio State RB Quinshon Judkins.

The game is slated to be released on July 19 this year with the full reveal scheduled for May 17. EA signed the biggest NIL deal in history to get more than 11,000 players into the game and the gaming giant is paying every college football athlete who has opted into the game an honorarium of $600, along with a copy of the game.

While most players, like Donovan Edwards, have opted to be in the game, some, like Texas QB Arch Manning, declined the opportunity.
