Despite being in the middle of preparations for the Alamo Bowl on Saturday, Coach Prime, Shedeur Sanders, and Travis Hunter have found some time for fun this week. In a recent video published by Deion Sanders Jr. on his channel Well Off Media, the Colorado Buffaloes can be seen attending Sea World San Antonio in a brief respite ahead of their weekend matchup with No. 17 BYU.
One of the activities Coach Prime engaged in with Shedeur, Jordan Seaton, and Hunter was a fair carnival hoop shoot game. The Well Off Media video shows him losing to both of his star players.
"I don't even want to shoot anymore. I have been embarrassed by the kids. It's not right," Deion Sanders said. (11:34)
It seems that Coach Prime has lost his basketball edge, given that his nickname comes from his time as a high school basketball player. At North Fort Myers High School, he was an all-state in football, baseball, and basketball, and he earned the nickname 'Primetime' after scoring 30 points in a basketball game.
Coach Prime on why Travis Hunter should play offense and defense at the professional level
Last week, in an appearance on the "Rich Eisen Show," Sanders opened up on what he believes Hunter's career progression once he's drafted into the NFL. According to him, Hunter has a unique talent that shouldn't be wasted by the team that picks him:
"He’s gonna do that, or they shouldn’t draft him. Don’t do that."
"And I’m gonna make sure of that. Don’t draft him if you’re not gonna give him the opportunity to play on both sides of the ball... He don’t have to do what we did with him here and play every snap," he added.
Exactly how he expects to keep his word to Hunter is unknown. It's difficult to see how he could influence the decision-making of an NFL franchise, as he's not a part of any organization at that level.
Colorado is currently a four-point underdog for Saturday's Alamo Bowl against BYU. The game will start at 7:30 p.m. ET, and it will be televised by ABC.
