Colorado head coach Deion Sanders had a disappointing 4-8 debut campaign last year amid all the hype and expectation surrounding his arrival. He used this offseason to tackle all the problem points and revamp the roster and the coaching staff.

One of the key areas that Deion Sanders focused on improving ahead of their Big 12 reunion campaign was the team's pass defense. Coach Prime, so far, is content with what he's seen from his team during the offseason training.

After Saturday's open practice, the Colorado head coach talked about how he felt 'great' after watching his revamped secondary in action. He also stated that all the secondary players were doing a great job and he is excited to watch them in action.

"I feel pretty darn good," Coach Prime said. "We got several pass rushers on the outside that can get the job done. It's going to be a problem. Throwing the football against us is going to be a problem. You can see the secondaries upgraded as well. The back end, the safeties, they're as physcial as ever."
"Shilo is doing his thing, Cam is doing his thing. Trevor is doing a wonderful job inside. Bentley is doing a wonderful job, as well as Jeremiah Brown. Depth is a key ingredient we all have" (8:20 onwards)

Apart from retaining the likes of Travis Hunter, Shilo Sanders, and Trevor Woods, Deion Sanders brought in a few new faces like LB Nikhai Hill-Green and CB Colton Hood to bolster the defense. He also brought in ex-Bengals secondary coach Robert Livingston as the team's new defensive coordinator.

Last season, Deion Sanders' team allowed 276.9 passing yards per game. Thus with a revamped defense, the Buffs are looking to allow fewer passes against them on the field this year.

Despite an injury-less fall camp Deion Sanders is not satisfied

After the open practice session, the Colorado head coach stated that he expects more from his team. Coach Prime also said that while they managed to avoid fall camp injuries, he is not '100% satisfied' and never will be.

"We can always do better. I'm never gonna be 100% satisfied. I'm a former football player, not just a coach. So you're never gonna be a 100% satisfied. But I'm happy with what we accomplished today," he said. (0:40 onwards)

Coach Prime has put a lot of effort this offseason to improve his squad. It will be interesting to see if the Buffs can go on to be eligible for the bowl games in their first Big 12 campaign under Deion Sanders. Or will they exceed everyone's expectations and secure a spot in the new 12-team playoffs?
