The No. 5 Notre Dame Fighting Irish advanced to the College Football Playoff semifinals after their 23–10 win over the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs in the Sugar Bowl on Thursday. The Fighting Irish have one of the best seasons in their history, and the credit mostly goes to Marcus Freeman for his excellent job as the coach.
After the win, CBS Sports writer Stephen Andress posted a 2021 video on X in which Freeman was revealed to be the next coach of Notre Dame. In the video, Brian Kelly makes the announcement and the players go crazy with excitement.
Fans reacted to Andress' post.
"I love how excited his team is to see him come through that door. I watch this video when I am having a bad day … it’s hard to not be inspired," one fan tweeted.
"He's done an amazing job this year. Really good football coach and has done wonders with the program," one fan wrote.
"Alright, Marcus Freeman is the coolest coach in Cfb and is a certified badass. Prove me wrong," one fan commented.
"I was extremely skeptical at first and I still believe he has a lot to prove but Freeman provides a calm and balanced demeanor that just resonates with everyone in the building. ND has been absolutely hammered by injuries and that defense has been spectacular," one fan tweeted.
