The No. 17 Colorado Buffaloes will miss Shilo and Shedeur Sanders when the season ends. Colorado earned its fourth straight win Saturday, blasting the Utah Utes 49-24. The Sanders brothers played a crucial role in the Buffaloes' romp as the team continues its pursuit of competing in the College Football Playoff. However, Shilo and Shedeur also look forward to entering the NFL draft next year.
Colorado's victory brought back memories of Deion Sanders sharing what it's like to work with his sons last year on " The Dan Patrick Show."
"It's all I know. I don't know no other way," Sanders said. "Shilo went to South Carolina, so he got from up under the umbrella for a minute, a year-and-a-half. Shedeur, only time he's played without me was when I was in the hospital with these blood clots in Jackson (Mississippi), so he's really never played without me in his life, so we don't know no other way.
"That's normalcy for us. From the time they were coming out the cradle able to play until now."
Colorado (8-2, 6-1 Big 12) strolled past Utah (4-6, 1-6) in what was another highlight performance for the NFL draft prospects. Shedeur played well at the starting quarterback position by completing 30 of 41 passes for 340 yards and three touchdowns. Shilo also impacted the game as the Buffaloes' safety with five tackles, one sack and one forced fumble.
Both players want to continue performing well and increase their chances of getting drafted early. Meanwhile, Coach Prime is steadfast in his decision not to join his sons in the NFL.
"I love it here": Deion Sanders responds to question of him leaving the Colorado Buffaloes
Deion held a news conference Tuesday afternoon ahead of Colorado's Big 12 matchup against the Kansas Jayhawks (4-6, 3-4) for Week 13 on Saturday. When asked about the speculation of leaving the team, Coach Prime pointed out that the Buffaloes' athletic director was in the room and that it was disrespectful. He added that he's happy with Colorado and isn't going anywhere.
"I'm happy where I am, man," Sanders said. "I'm good. I got a kickstand down. Do you know what a kickstand is? A lot of people in here not of age don't know what a kickstand is. That means I'm resting. I'm good. I'm excited. I'm enthusiastic about where I am. I love it here. I truly do."
Colorado has two games left on its regular season schedule. Coach Prime and his sons will try to finish their last season together strong before they part ways next year.
