"I'm above everybody": Travis Hunter makes eye-catching remark about Heisman chances, flexes brand new LeBron Prime sneakers

Colorado Buffaloes star Travis Hunter is one of the contenders for the Heisman Trophy. While some people don't think that Hunter is the favorite for the award, the man himself does.

Hunter was featured in a video posted on Instagram by his coach, Deion Sanders, where he said:

" I'm clearly the favourite at this point. There aint even no rankings, but just so you know, even if I'm not involved in the rankings, I'm clearly above everybody."

Hunter did this all while wearing a pair of new LeBron Prime Nike Sneakers. These are sneakers that basketball star LeBron James has worn and are inspired by Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders.

It is no surprise that Sanders' top player is wearing a pair of these sneakers. As for his push for the Heisman Trophy, Travis Hunter is in the running for the prestigious award.

This season, the two-way star has recorded a team-leading 757 receiving yards and has scored eight touchdowns from 60 catches. On defense, Hunter has recorded 20 tackles and two interceptions this year. This includes an important tackle to hand victory against the Baylor Bears in a classic a few weeks ago.

If he wins the Heisman Trophy, he will be the first wide receiver to win the award since DeVonta Smith did it in 2020 and the first to play defense since the Michigan Wolverines' Charles Woodson in 1997.

But, while Travis thinks he is the favorite for the Heisman Trophy, the bookmakers disagree.

Coming into week 10 of the regular season, Fox Sports has Oregon Ducks quarterback Dillon Gabriel as the favorite to win the award, with Hunter in third place.

The former Oklahoma Sooners quarterback is having a fantastic season. His Oregon Ducks are one of the few remaining undefeated programs left in the country, and there is a possibility that he will lead them to a national championship this season.

Gabriel has thrown for 2,371 yards and 18 touchdowns so far. His touchdown (143 TDs) in last week's win over Illinois put him second highest in the all-time touchdown scorers, behind Chase Keenum (155).

This is a record that he could break.

If Travis Hunter wants to win the Heisman Trophy this season, he has to better the achievements of Gabriel and fellow contender Ashton Jeanty, who is on course to break the season rushing yards total.
