College football analyst Paul Finebaum wasn't impressed with one SEC coach after the 2024 season. Entering the year, the Alabama Crimson Tide hoped to win the SEC and national title since several key players were returning, including quarterback Jalen Milroe.
However, a big change was the fact legendary coach Nick Saban retired and was replaced by Kalen DeBoer. The Crimson Tide didn't make the playoffs and were stunned by Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl.
"What doesn't matter anymore is what he's done in the past," Finebaum said on his show, via Athlon Sports. "What matters is what he's done at Alabama, and I'm not impressed."

Alabama was upset by Vanderbilt. Alabama also lost 24-3 to Oklahoma who went 6-7. These upsets ended the Crimson Tide's hopes of making the College Football Playoff.
Paul Finebaum believes Michigan loss will haunt Kalen DeBoer

Paul Finebaum believes Kalen DeBoer is on the hot seat after just one season at Alabama.
“I don’t think Kalen DeBoer could have dialed up a more inopportune way to finish the season,” Finebaum said during his Monday appearance for McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning, via Saturday Down South.
"But a loss, especially one that looked so inept, I believe is going to haunt Kalen DeBoer. And I understand that he isn’t going to get fired, and I think it’s absurd to even have that kind of conversation. But to say he’s on some sort of a hot seat I think is accurate."
DeBoer finished his first year at Alabama with a record of 9-4 and went 5-3 in SEC play. The coach signed an eight-year deal worth over $80 million.
Finebaum thinks the Crimson Tide could move on from DeBoer sooner rather than later if he has another disappointing year in 2025.
