Former Alabama Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban, who has a net worth of $80 million according to CelebrityNetWorth.com, received a late birthday gift from an unlikely source. On November 2, on the set of College GameDay, the mascot of the Penn State Nittany Lions presented Saban with a Lion costume. He wore the costume for the remainder of the show.
Since then, there has been no sight of this costume. Until now. In a video posted by NCAA Noobita on X on Wednesday, Nick's daughter, Kristen, was seen wearing the costume, and it seems she has no plans of returning it.
"I'm never giving it back," Kristen said in the video.
It looks like Kristen will be giving the costume more use than Nick is ever going to do.
Nick Saban gave Jalen Milroe some advice before his performance against LSU
Nick Saban (without his Lions costume) and the rest of the College Game Day crew were in Baton Rouge for last week's edition of the show. They were there for Alabama's high-stakes clash with the LSU Tigers on Saturday.
Before the game, Saban had some advice for both Jalen Milroe and Garrett Nussmeier, the quarterbacks for the Crimson Tide and Tigers, respectively.
“That’s the biggest problem with these guys: they want to make plays. But they don’t need shooting guard mentality. They need a point guard mentality. Have 13 assists in a game and no turnovers, and that’s good quarterback play.”
However, it seemed like Jalen Milroe did not listen to this advice to be more like a point guard. Milroe was the key driving force of this offense, and he was not able to just step back and let his receivers and running backs do the hard work.
While he did give his receivers some time on the ball (throwing for 109 yards from 12 catches), this was dwarfed by the amount of time Milroe had with the ball.
Milroe showed his dominance and his ability to run with the ball in this game. He ran for 185 yards and scored four touchdowns. These four touchdowns alone would have defeated the Tigers.
In the end, instead of following Nick Saban's guidance and embracing the "point guard mentality," Jalen Milroe became the starting shooting guard and dominated his opponents.
