Rich Eisen is a college football analyst and University of Michigan alum. He got to watch his Michigan Wolverines win a national championship last season, but they were unable to replicate their success this year. UM struggled with consistency all season and failed to reach the College Football Playoff.

To make matters worse for Eisen, three of the four teams left in the playoffs are Michigan's biggest rivals (Penn State, Ohio State and Notre Dame). As a result, he has no choice but to root for Arch Manning and the Texas Longhorns. He released a new episode of "The Rich Eisen Show" on Friday and spoke about this.

"So, I'm just saying. All right, all right, all right. I'm with that minister, man. I'm with the minister. I'm rooting for Arch Manning, not just for your trading card," Eisen said (2:35). "Straight up for every one of us that wears maize and blue. The only one missing is Michigan State. It's a shame they aren't there. So, just putting that out there.
"To be succeeded by any of these teams. You know. But at least, Notre Dame is the only one of those teams that's on a winning streak of longer than two games. Because as you know, Texas lost to Georgia in the SEC championship game and Penn State lost to Oregon in the Big Ten championship game and remind me why Ohio State's only on a two-game winning streak?"

Rich Eisen was referring to Michigan defeating Ohio State 13-10 in the final game of the regular season. At the time, that loss looked like it could send the Buckeyes into a tailspin that would end their season.

It eliminated them from Big Ten championship contention and forced them to play in the first round of the College Football Playoff. However, since then, the Buckeyes have flipped a switch and become a dominant team again.

Rich Eisen will cheer for the Texas Longhorns in the Cotton Bowl

Since three of Michigan's biggest rivals (Ohio State, Penn State and Notre Dame) are still in the playoff, Rich Eisen has no choice but to cheer for the Texas Longhorns. The Longhorns will compete against the Buckeyes in the Cotton Bowl.

The Cotton Bowl is the second of the two semifinal matchups and will kick off on Friday, Jan. 10, at 7:30 p.m. ET. In the other CFP semifinal, Notre Dame will lock horns with Penn State in the Orange Bowl on Thursday, Jan. 9, with kick-off at 7:30 p.m. ET.

If the Longhorns do not win against the Buckeyes, Eisen will have to watch as a bitter rival of the Wolverines succeeds them as national champions.
