Arch Manning finally played a game for longer than a few snaps on Saturday, as the Texas Longhorns defeated the University of Texas San Antonio Roadrunners. Manning had a good performance, making 9 of 12 attempts, throwing for 223 yards and scoring five touchdowns.

Former Texas greats have recognized his performance.

One player who praised Arch Manning is former Longhorns quarterback Vince Young, who posted on X, formerly known as Twitter:

"OK. Respect #16. I see you."

Young was responding to a specific play where Manning ran for a 67-yard touchdown. This is the longest rushing TD from a Longhorns quarterback since Vince Young ran for 80 yards during the 2005 season.

This rushing touchdown was not only record breaking, it could also be seen as surprising, especially considering the family he comes from.

The Manning family is football royalty and has produced some of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of the NFL. However, while grandfather Archie Manning, and uncles Peyton Manning and Eli Manning were fantastic quarterbacks in terms of passing, they were never known for their mobility.

The mobile quarterback is something that is becoming a common sight in both college football and the NFL, and mobility has become a sought-after attribute in all levels of football.

Luckily for Arch Manning, he has shown that he has this skill.

Why was Arch Manning playing this game-what happened to Quinn Ewers?

The reason Arch Manning saw significant playing time was because the Longhorns starting QB Quinn Ewers left the game in the second quarter with an abdominal sprain.

Before his injury, Ewers had thrown for 185 yards and two touchdowns, and the Longhorns had already had a strong lead.

Luckily for the now No. 1 ranked Longhorns, the injury to Ewers has not been ruled as a long-term injury. But he is likely to miss next week's game against another non-conference opponent, the Louisiana Monroe Warhawks.

Manning will start this game and fans will have the opportunity to see the highly touted QB in a full game.
