Dia Bell, a five-star quarterback from American Heritage High School in Florida, has sparked several comparisons to NFL stars like C.J. Stroud, Bryce Young, and Jayden Daniels. Fans and analysts alike are abuzz, particularly after Instagram personality Amen Hong posted a video praising the young quarterback.
"I'm about to introduce you to one of the best quarterbacks, if not the best quarterback in the class of 2026," Hong said. "This right here is Dia Bell, and this five star quarterback won Gatorade player of the year down in Florida."
Hong added:
"So everybody knows Dia be slaying that thing, but what I think sets him apart is his mental side and his pre-snap identification. This kid is so good at reading defenses."
Fans chimed in with their own takes in the comments section of the video.
“Dia can slide with his legs. I see Jayden Daniels or a tall Bryce Young—that boy can sling the rock and always uses his legs in the big moments," one fan wrote.
“Damn, next CJ!” another fan said.
"That QB room getting to pack . Arch, KJ and incoming Dia next year," an Instagram user said.
"But Malachi Toney was better at QB...," one fan wrote.
"Come on in and learn the system. Hook’em," a college football fan said.
Ranked No. 5 overall and as the No. 2 quarterback in the 2026 ESPN 300, Bell committed to Texas earlier this year, turning down offers from LSU and Penn State. The 6-foot-3 quarterback is the son of former NBA player Raja Bell.
Dia Bell Focuses on growth while setting his sights on college
As Texas prepares for its 2026 recruiting class, all eyes are on five-star quarterback Dia Bell. The 6-foot-3, 195-pounder from Fort Lauderdale, FL, is currently recovering from a lower leg injury sustained late in his junior season. Despite this setback, Bell remains on track and is determined to improve before joining the Longhorns.
“I will be definitely trying to get bigger, faster and stronger,” Bell told Inside Texas. “On top of that I will for sure keep working on the little details to keep myself engaged while we're in the offseason and also advancing myself in defensive identification so when the game comes, I know what the defense is doing so I can make confident and decisive reads.”
Bell maintains a strong rapport with Texas coaches, including head coach Steve Sarkisian and quarterbacks coach AJ Milwee.
“I have a really good relationship with Coach Sark,” Bell said. “When I visit, we spend time together, and we also text and call sometimes. I like to message him about the plays he calls during games that I think are great or that I have questions about. Coach Milwee and I probably have the best relationship because I spend the most time with him and we talk every week.”
In the 2024 season, Dia Bell played 11 games, completing 161 of 228 passes for 2,597 yards with a completion rate of 70.6%. He averaged 16.1 yards per attempt, 236.1 yards per game, and threw 29 touchdowns, with a touchdown rate of 2.6 per game.
