Mike Vrabel's name is frequently mentioned in connection with coaching vacancies. After his sudden dismissal as head coach of the Tennessee Titans in January, Vrabel has not rushed to find his next role.

Since the firing of Robert Saleh in October, Vrabel has been linked to several NFL head coaching vacancies. Two more head coaches, Dennis Allen of the Saints and Matt Eberflus of the Bears, have since been dismissed. With up to seven additional openings expected by season's end, Vrabel is unlikely to lack opportunities.

One intriguing possibility gaining traction is the head coaching job at Ohio State. ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky added fuel to the rumors on Tuesday's episode of "The Pat McAfee Show," where he dropped cryptic hints about Vrabel's future.

"I think Vrabel’s spoken for," Orlovsky said. "I just think that Vrabel’s probably got a clear sight and path as to where he will likely be coaching. He’ll be coaching football. I think there’s a vision for where he likely ends up coaching next year."

When pressed by McAfee to be clearer on what he was saying, Orlovsky shrugged it off by saying that he was not a reporter and didn't want to get in trouble for leaking something that big.

Vrabel is serving as a coaching and personnel consultant for the Cleveland Browns and has remained tight-lipped about his plans. This silence has fueled media speculation about his next destination.

Ohio State HC Ryan Day's seat potentially warm despite multiple double-digit win seasons

The Ohio State Buckeyes have not been to a conference championship game since 2020 when they won the Big Ten Championship.

What's worse is that the team hasn't won the annual Michigan-Ohio State rivalry game since the pandemic began.

Even this season, during what was considered a rebuilding year for Michigan, they defeated Ohio State 13-10. This has put significant pressure on coach Ryan Day, with some calling Saturday's College Football Playoff game against the Tennessee Volunteers a must-win.
