Shedeur Sanders won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, being recognized as the top upperclassman quarterback in the nation, last week. Despite this, the Colorado signal-caller wasn't named one of the finalists for the coveted Heisman Award. That honor went to Colorado's Travis Hunter, Boise State's Ashton Jeanty, Oregon's Dillon Gabriel and Miami's Cameron Ward.

On Tuesday on his YouTube show, "2Legendary With Shedeur Sanders," Darius Sanders asked the Buffs signal-caller how he felt about being passed over by the Heisman voters.

"I'm really not tripping on it, bro," Sanders said (Timestamp: 3:45). "Like, honestly, I don't need others' validation to know who I am. ... So, I don't really care as long as they give at least one of us (Travis Hunter) the respect we deserve. That's all that matter to me.
"If I win an award ... it's on behalf of the team, the O-line, the receiving corps. ... Because without those guys, I wouldn't be able to do it. ... So, if Travis receives the award, it's because of the team"

Sanders was then asked if his recent trips to Las Vegas hinted at anything in his future. Recently, Shedeur posted a video of Allegiant Stadium to his Instagram story, which some took to mean he would want the Las Vegas Raiders to draft him.

"Just chilling a little bit. ... Just a different scenery, that's it," Sanders said. "I was tired of being cold."

Shedeur Sanders on Colorado's upcoming bowl game

Shedeur Sanders also opened up on 20th-ranked Colorado's upcoming bowl game against 17th-ranked BYU on Dec. 28. He confirmed he will be there in San Antonio for the Valero Alamo Bowl (Timestamp: 4:00):

"I'm excited. We know who the opponent is now, and now we are able to slowly get back into things. I'll say from, like, mid this week on, to get focus and get ready for the next game."

The Valero Alamo Bowl is the Buffaloes' first postseason game since 2020, when they lost to the Texas Longhorns in the same event. Colorado hasn't won a bowl game since 2004, 20 years ago, and it's on a four-game bowl losing streak.
