Deion Sanders Jr. held his ground on Twitter on Saturday night and Sunday morning when several fans criticized the No. 23-ranked Colorado Buffaloes. Following the Buffaloes's 14-36 loss to the No. 17-ranked BYU Cougars on Saturday, some fans on Twitter called out the offense for its performance. One fan even claimed the offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur was not calling the plays.
"This is not Pat Shurmur’s offense, not close to it. I’ve proved it multiple times by pulling up his all 22 film in the NFL."
Deion Sanders Jr. debated this with fans on Twitter. He mentioned how his social media responsibilities allow him to attend offensive meetings. However, fans called him out, saying he did not know what he was talking about and that he would get cooked. Deion Sanders Jr. eventually responded.
"Bro idgaf I played the game too… & how can I get cooked when I’m in the building daily. I know what’s really going on… yall are so easily finessable it’s insane dawg. Bro just really told me that ima get cooked like ANYBODY ON EARTH knows more information about us than me."
Deion Sanders Jr. defended the Colorado Buffaloes despite their disappointing performance in the Alamo Bowl
Deion Sanders Jr. is often very vocal on Twitter. He has gone on Twitter several times throughout the season to defend the Colorado Buffaloes, Coach Prime, and his brothers Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders. This time, he defended them after a disappointing end to the season.
The Alamo Bowl was projected to be one of the best non-playoff bowl games of the year. It featured two ranked teams, and unlike many non-playoff bowl games, neither team had many opt-outs or injuries to deal with. However, the game was far from competitive.
The BYU Cougars dominated the game early on, taking a 10-0 lead in the first quarter and a 20-0 lead in the first half. Deion Sanders was also out-coached as the Cougars coaching staff used innovative play-calling to dominate the game. Notably, they called an unexpected onside kick in the first quarter that ultimately gave them the momentum.
While Deion Sanders Jr. defended the team, it will not have an opportunity to bounce back. This was the Buffs's last game of the season. It is also the last game Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders would play for the team as they will enter the 2025 NFL draft.
