The Colorado Buffaloes are gearing up for their first bowl game since 2020, and coach Deion Sanders expects nothing but victory. In their last practice on Sunday, the former NFL star sent a warning to the squad led by his quarterback son, Shedeur Sanders.

"We got to finish. We got to finish strong, we got to finish right," Sanders said (4:10). "I'm talking about making it, I'm talking about making them proud. Some of y'all if it don't mean nothing to you it's not wise for you to get on the plane because if I sense it. If I sniff it out you ain't going. Thank God we have everybody. ...
"That means you want it, that means you study it, that means you're prepared, and that means I like it and your coaches love you."

"Now let's continue with a commitment to excellence," Sanders said.

Sanders also listed reasons he wanted his Colorado players to fight, the principal being to give Peggy Coppom a victory.

Coach Prime promised Coppom, a 100-year-old Buffaloes fan, last year that she would witness another bowl game during her lifetime.

Coach Prime on his future with Colorado

There have been many rumors regarding whether Coach Prime will remain with Colorado or leave for a bigger job next season. While Deion Sanders has been adamant he wishes to remain with Colorado, speculation has nonetheless been endless.

Last week on "The Pacman Jones Show," Sanders echoed his previous statements.

"I love where I am. I’m elated [about] where I am. I’m happy where I am. I can’t wait to see what the future holds with where I am, and I love Boulder, Colorado," Sanders said.
"I have every intention, every plan in the world to be coaching for the Colorado Buffs from here on. I want to finish here. I want to put the flag — I want my name on the mountains out there. I want to put my flag down in Colorado."

At the moment, this isn't what is at the forefront of Coach Prime's thoughts, with utmost priority being the Alamo Bowl against BYU. The game is set for Saturday, Dec. 28, at 7:30 p.m. ET. The encounter will air on ABC.
