The No. 20 Illinois Fighting Illini are traveling to Eugene this weekend to take on the No. 2 Oregon Ducks in a Big Ten showdown. Illinois is coming off their second Top 25 win of the season versus Michigan last week, advancing to 6-1 on the season and 3-1 in conference play.
Oregon has established itself as a legitimate national championship contender after toppling Ohio State prior to their blowout win over Purdue last weekend. The Ducks are a perfect 7-0 entering this weekend with a 4-0 record in their first four Big Ten matchups.

Oregon drew first blood after a methodical nine-play, 83-yard opening drive that resulted in a 31-yard passing touchdown from Dillon Gabriel to Tex Johnson. After forcing a punt on Illinois' first drive, the Ducks punched in their second-straight touchdown off a 34-yard score from Gabriel to Justius Love on the back of a seven-play, 58-yard drive.
After forcing a punt on their first drive, Oregon's defense came up big once again with an interception from senior defensive back Tysheem Johnson. Illinois' defense finally mustered a stop, forcing the Ducks to punt. The Illini got their first points on the board with a field goal with just over one minute left in the first quarter, cutting the score to 14-3.
Oregon was quick to respond with an eight-play, 65-yard drive capped off by a seven-yard rushing touchdown from Gabriel, extending their lead to 21-3 in the opening minutes of the second quarter.
The Ducks forced another punt on the Illini's ensuing drive and added to their score after an 18-yard rushing touchdown from Noah Whittington, bringing the score to 28-3 with six minutes remaining.
The Ducks added more salt to the wound with another touchdown drive. Gabriel completed a two yard pass for a score to Whittington to cap off an eight-play, 89-yard drive and put the Ducks ahead 35-3 going into the locker rooms.
