IN PHOTO: Nebraska cheerleader Emily Vaggalis shares adorable throwback snap

Nebraska battled it out with Big Ten rival Illinois on Friday night in Lincoln in its first conference play of the season. Both teams entered the game with a perfect record, however, the Cornhuskers (3-1, 0-1 Big Ten) fell to the Fighting Illini (4-0, 1-0) in overtime in what was a hotly contested Big Ten game.

It was a memorable night for Emily Vaggalis, who was on cheerleading duty for the school. With the Cornhuskers celebrating their 400th straight sellout, Vaggalis was living in her dream as she re-lived a past moment at the Memorial Stadium in Lincoln.

Following the game, Emily Vaggalis shared a throwback picture where she was carried by her mother and a friend, who were both the Cornhuskers' cheerleaders then. A similar version of the picture was taken on Friday night by the three, with Emily now the cheerleader among them.

Emily Vaggalis’ life outside of cheerleading at Nebraska

While Emily Vaggalis is fast gaining fame as a cheerleader across the city of Lincoln, the University of Nebraska student is involved in a host of other things aside from adding extra energy to fanfare at Memorial Stadium on game days.

Beyond that endeavor, Emily is also a choreographer, guiding students in dance. Despite her young age, she currently serves as an assistant coach and trainer in the East Lincoln Dance Team, the Apollonaires.

She’s also a fitness instructor at Lotus House of Yoga in Lincoln. With her flexibility and strength, she is helping empower countless others to attain similar levels of physical wellness and grace.

Emily Vaggalis is in a romantic relationship with the Cornhuskers' defensive lineman Nash Hutmacher. The two have been together on various social media posts.

Emily Vaggalis celebrated 22nd birthday with Nash Hutmacher last month

Emily Vaggalis posted photos of her 22nd birthday party on Instagram last month. She captioned the post:

"This is so 22!!! Thank you to my bestest friends for making this weekend so special"

Vaggalis shared several snaps of her celebration with many of her friends. She also had a couple of pictures with Hutmacher, including one of her kissing the Nebraska lineman on the cheek.
