Texas Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian announced his separation from his popular wife, Loreal Smith, citing different career commitments making it difficult to make time for each other. It was the end of a four-and-a-half-year marriage.
The Texas coach has three children, a son (Brady) and two daughters (Ashley and Taylor) from his first marriage to ex-wife Stephanie. His daughters, Taylor and Ashley shared pictures from their fun-filled girls' trip in Paris, France.
In the Instagram pictures, they show famous backgrounds, including the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre.
The Instagram post was captioned:
"Bisous!"
Ashley Sarkisian graduated with a major in International Relations from New York University this year while Brady is a sociology major and a football player at Texas University.
Loreal Smith likes Steve Sarkisian's daughter's pictures
Loreal Smith liked the pictures of Steve Sarkisian's daughters on Instagram despite their impending divorce.
Loreal was dubbed 'The First Lady of Texas' due to her popularity in Austin with her often inventive and creative outfits on gameday, with Steve Sarkisian admitting that his wife dressed him for games.
Loreal worked as a stylist while Sarkisian continued to remodel the Longhorns into an elite side that reached last season's College Football Playoff semifinals.
However, in a joint statement released on various social media platforms, the two announced their split.
"After many heartfelt conversations, we have decided to amicably part ways and jointly file for divorce," the statement read. "We aim to remain the best of friends and are incredibly grateful for the love and support we have shared throughout our journey together.
"Our commitments to our respective careers made it difficult to prioritize time for each other and this step will provide us with the necessary time and space professionally while continuing to support each other personally."
Beyond their separation, Sarkisian meanwhile will have to deal with the enormous pressure and scrutiny facing the Longhorns as they embark on their first season in the SEC (Southeastern Conference).
