Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes emerged victorious in their Week 8 contest against the Arizona Wildcats. This victory helped them overcome last season's 4-8 campaign and they are a step closer to being a potential contender for the new 12-team playoffs.
Sanders took to social media to show his gratitude to two Colorado players for their contributions to the team. In an Instagram post he shared, Coach Prime heaped praise on freshman offensive lineman Cash Cleveland and junior defensive end Keaten Wade while sharing a few snippets he took with them.
"Proud of you guys," Sanders wrote in the caption while tagging Cleveland and Wade.
Coming out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Cash Cleveland joined the Colorado Buffaloes as a part of the 2024 recruiting class. The former 3-star OL (as per On3) got to make his debut during their 34-7 victory over Arizona in Tuscon. It was a big moment for the freshman who will be shaping up to be a future star on defense.
On the other hand, Keaten Wade began his collegiate career with the Kentucky Wildcats back in 2022. Last season, he played in all 12 games for them while tallying a total of 35 tackles and 1.0 sacks. He then joined Colorado as an undergraduate transfer this offseason.
Keaten Wade also got the opportunity to debut for Deion Sanders' team against Arizona. He managed to put up two total tackles and two sacks, indicating that he can become a key asset in defense for the Buffs on the field.
Deion Sanders shares new verdict on Shilo's performance after last week's loss to Kansas State
Shilo Sanders did not have a great game during Colorado's Week 7 loss to Kansas State. Deion Sanders criticized Shilo's performance, calling it horrible in the post-game press conference.
However, Shilo's performance against Arizona brought a change of heart in Coach Prime. The Colorado safety managed to rack up four tackles while limiting the Wildcats to 4.1 yards per play. 107 rushing yards and 245 total yards. Coach Prime took to social media to heap praise on his son for making a comeback.
"@shilosanders WOW. what a difference a week makes! 1 minute you're the topic of ridicule because it's your 1st time in your career that you showed vulnerability in your game but a week later you're back to the PHYSICAL AGGRESSIVE DAWG that we all know," Sanders wrote."
"Proceed with caution because everynody won't love u when u don't give them what they require for love. But guess what son. I LOVE U TO LIFE & it ain't based on performance."
The Buffs are next scheduled to take on the Cincinnati Bearcats in the upcoming week. The game is scheduled to be played on Saturday, October 26 at Folsom Field and kicks off at 10:15 p.m. ET.
