Nick Saban once revealed his strategy behind buying Christmas gifts

Back in 2021, Nick Saban, who is known for his meticulous preparation on the football field, revealed that he, in fact, had a gift-giving strategy in place that’s just as calculated as his game plans. During his radio show in Dallas, Saban explained how he handles Christmas shopping without breaking a sweat in the classic Saban way.

“I have a technique for everything,” he said, recounting how he discreetly shops for his family.

Saban’s playbook involves enlisting a department store assistant, tipping them generously, and having them execute the entire process- that goes from selecting items to wrapping them. Meanwhile, the former Alabama coach just waited in the background and enjoyed some leisure time.

That year brought a new twist, though. Saban shared that his family had switched things up, buying, wrapping and stashing their gifts.

“They know what they are, but I don’t really know what they got,” he admitted, calling the arrangement “kind of backwards.”
