The Cornhusker program seemingly turned the corner during the second half of last season and Matt Rhule should have a good team this season. For the most part, Nebraska has put three prospects into the draft, but that could change next April.
Nebraska Cornhuskers' 2025 NFL Draft Preview
The top three players on my Nebraska board are from the defensive side of the ball and are presently projected as day three draft picks, though that is likely to change.
#1 Ty Robinson
Ty Robinson is a nice-sized (6-foot-5, 311-pound) defensive lineman who shows a lot of athleticism on the field. He’s explosive, fast and agile.
Robinson is a disruptive force that consistently penetrates the line of scrimmage and disrupts the action. He has the body type to be used at defensive tackle and the athleticism to line up as a two-gap end but Robinson must improve his playing strength.
#2 Nash Hutmacher
Linemate Nash Hutmacher is your proto-typical defensive tackle and a gap occupier who does the dirty work. He’s quick, plays with leverage and is tough to move off the point.
#3 Tommi Hill
Most scouts grade Tommi Hill as the top Cornhusker senior prospect. He comes with next level measurables (6-foot/204 pounds) and flashes cover skills. Hill has a lot of upside, which, if met, will vault him into day two of the draft.
#4 Ben Scott
I have a much higher opinion of Ben Scott than the scouts I’ve spoken with. The former Arizona State tackle has taken well to his new school and new position as center. Scott is a tough, nice-sized, thinking man blocker on the pivot who continually gets the job done.
He won’t test well prior to the draft; rather, he is a late-round prospect in a position where those taken in the final rounds go on to have productive careers.
