On Saturday, the Colorado Buffaloes face the UCF Knights in Orlando. However, the game's original plans have been altered.
The matchup was set for 3:30 ET, but kick-off has been delayed until at least 4 p.m. ET.
The reason for this change is incliment weather.
Colorado vs. UCF weather update
Orlando enjoyed sunny weather on Saturday morning. However, afternoon storms hit the area, and lightning from those storms prompted game-time changes.
When lightning storms occur, it is generally advised not to gather outdoors. This means that play is halted at most college football stadiums when lightning is within ten miles.
This is why the Colorado Buffaloes vs. UCF Knights contest is delayed. However, once the lightning passes, the teams should take the field.
A statement from UCF officials has informed fans of when the game should start:
"Pregame will resume following a 30-minute period when there is no lightning within 8 miles of the stadium, and both teams have been provided an opportunity to warm up. Kickoff no sooner than 4:05pm. "
Can the Colorado Buffaloes beat UCF?
When the game begins, fans will learn if Shedeur Sanders and Colorado can win a third straight game.
Last week, the Buffaloes trailed Baylor for nearly four quarters. A last-second Hail Mary TD from Sanders sent that game to overtime, and the Buffaloes picked up an excellent win.
This week should be even tougher for the Buffs. The Knights have more talent than Baylor. Since they struggled to defeat a lesser opponent last Saturday, claiming victory today should be challenging for Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes.
