Deion Sanders finished his second year with the Colorado Buffaloes this season. After a 4-8 debut, he helped the Buffs put up a 9-4 record in the Big 12 while also qualifying for a bowl game. "Coach Prime" and his team went against the BYU Cougars in the Alamo Bowl, where they lost 36-14.

This season also marks the end of Deion Sanders' sons, Shedeur and Shilo's collegiate careers. They are expected to declare for the 2025 NFL draft, leading to the rumor mill churning about Coach Prime leaving Boulder to coach in the NFL. Most recently, it was rumored that Sanders could potentially join the Las Vegas Raiders as their new coach.

According to a report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal, a person with knowledge about this situation claimed Deion Sanders has a "very strong interest" in taking up the head coaching opening at the Raiders. This insider also said the Colorado coach's associates in the NFL also reached out to the team to express his desire to transition from Boulder.

The Raiders fired Antonio Pierce after a disappointing 4-13 record this season. They have already interviewed several candidates for the coaching position, including Detroit Lions offensive and defensive coordinators Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn and Kansas City Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo.

Despite the reports, there has been no official communique from the Raiders showing interest in hiring Coach Prime for the position. It has also not been mentioned publicly whether Sanders has been in talks with any NFL franchise for a possible job change.

Deion Sanders lays down conditions that could entice him to leave Colorado

Coach Prime made an appearance on "Good Morning America" last week. During his conversation with the host, he discussed the only possible situation that could entice him to leave his coaching position in Colorado and transition to the NFL.

"You know what? The only way, I would consider (the NFL), is to coach my sons," Coach Prime said. "Not son, sons."

Shedeur Sanders is considered a top pick in the first round of the 2025 draft in April. On the other hand, his brother Shilo is projected to be a Day 3 pick by experts. There have been reports about the Raiders showing interest in Shedeur. However, with the No. 6 pick, they would have to trade up to draft the Colorado quarterback.
