Drew Allar of the Penn State Nittany Lions is one of the leading quarterbacks in College Football and has led his Nittany Lions team to an undefeated season so far.

But, this week that undefeated record is under threat from the Ohio State Buckeyes, and to make things worse, Allar is suffering from an injury.

Penn State is going to need Allar to play in this game but is he going to?

Is Drew Allar playing today?

Drew Allar is widely expected to play for Penn State in the game against Ohio State on Saturday.

During last week's game against the Wisconsin Badgers, Allar suffered a knee injury which took him out of the game at halftime.

He was replaced by backup quarterback Beau Pribula, who was able to be enough to the Nittany Lions the victory which continued their undefeated season.

Allar will reportedly return to his starting quarterback role, as per reports on On3.

"Penn State quarterback Drew Allar is expected to play Saturday against Ohio State, multiple sources tell @On3sports."

However, this does not mean that the Nittany Lions are forgetting about Beau Pribula. Penn State is prepared to put Beau in again if something were to happen to Allar again. This was confirmed by Nittany Lions coach James Franklin.

"But so far, so good. Getting both Beau and Drew a ton of reps in practice."

The Importance of Drew Allar to Penn State's offense

Drew Allar has been one of the best players in College Football this season and a key figure in the Nittany Lions' undefeated season.

This is in contrast to his 2023 season with the program, where he struggled at times, but was good enough to help Penn State be the third-best team in the Big Ten.

The Nittany Lions offense has been one of the strongest in all of College Football, something that Allar has been instrumental in. This season, he has thrown for 1,640 yards and 12 touchdowns, with a completion percentage of 71.3%.

But, this week's game against Ohio State will be a massive test for Allar and his offense. Statistically, Ohio State is stronger, scoring an extra seven points per game when compared to the Nittany Lions.

However, Ohio State has been struggling of late. They were defeated by the Oregon Ducks and had to hold onto victory against the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

If Allar and company can exploit the weakness in the Ohio State defense, he could be set for a historic day in Happy Valley.
