The sign-stealing scandal involving former Michigan Wolverines staffer Connor Stalions provided one of last season's biggest stories in college football. The reigning national champions were severely handicapped by the loss of former coach Jim Harbaugh for three games due to a ban stemming from the incident.

A report by "TheWolverine.com" released on Monday indicated that the saga might be far from over. According to the report, the NCAA has concluded its investigations and will issue a Notice of Allegations (NOA) during the week.

Former staffer Connor Stalions, who resigned due to his part in the affair, will also be hit with level-one violations while an unnamed former staffer will get the same punishment for paying for meals and logistics for prospects. Other unnamed staffers are set to be hit with level-two violations for the same infraction.

Stalions is alleged to not have cooperated with the NCAA's extensive investigations both during his time as a Wolverines staffer and after he resigned from his job.

According to the report, the Wolverines will not be required to vacate any wins, which would've impacted their national championship win.

"A Michigan source told us U-M would have accepted a large fine, but would absolutely fight any postseason ban or anything similar. Some believe the NCAA is looking to make an example of Michigan for what the association believes was Michigan “thumbing its nose” at them throughout the investigation," the report said.

According to the report, the response by the program will likely only go before the NCAA Committee on Infractions mid-next year, which means that the whole sign-stealing scandal could take very long to solve; a relief to the current team.

Former Michigan staffer to star in Netflix special

Former Wolverines staffer Connor Stalions became infamous overnight as bits of the sign-stealing issue unfolded in the media. He was catapulted from a background character to a major part of college football.

He resigned from his job in November 2023 with coach Jim Harbaugh denying knowledge of his activities. Stalions is set to star in a Netflix "Untold" episode, which will premiere on Aug. 27.

It will be interesting to hear the story from the perspective of the very culprit behind the entire saga.
