Shedeur Sanders enjoyed a fabulous run in Colorado's 2024 regular season. However, the Buffs quarterback has reflected on missing out on the Big 12 championship game.

In Tuesday's episode of his "2Legendary" YouTube podcast, Shedeur invited his half-brother Deion Sanders Jr. as his guest. When Bucky read out a fan's question about Colorado failing to qualify for the College Football Playoff, Sheduer opened up on the missed opportunity.

"I mean, it was in our control," Sheduer said at 8:04 in the video. "And we let it get to matters we can't control. So that's on us. When you know you're in that situation and have that opportunity and we don't take advantage of it, then you can't really have regret or have anything because the coaches preach that all the time."
"Don't really have regret when the game is over. So, of course, it definitely stings for sure. But, we had a chance and we didn't take advantage of it."

The Buffs were in an excellent position to qualify for the College Football Playoff with two regular-season games remaining in the season. However, Colorado suffered a crushing 37-21 defeat against Kansas on Nov. 24, which dropped them out of the playoff race.

Colorado (9-3, 7-2 Big 12) eventually won its final game against Oklahoma State 52-0 in dominant fashion, but it wasn't enough to get the team a berth in the Big 12 championship game. Instead, Arizona State will face Iowa State for the Big 12 title on Saturday.

Earlier this week, Colorado coach Deion Sanders confirmed that his big stars will play in the Buffs' bowl game later in December. This means that Shedeur Sanders is likely to start as Colorado's quarterback one final time before declaring for the 2025 NFL draft.

Shedeur finished the regular season with 3,926 yards, 35 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. He also rushed for four touchdowns on 91 carries across 12 games for Colorado.

Colorado's bowl game will give Shedeur an opportunity to boost his draft stock even further ahead of next year's draft. Many believe that the Buffs quarterback could go as an early pick in the first round.
