Shedeur Sanders & Co. suffered a blowout 28-10 loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday. After a close game with North Dakota State, the Colorado Buffaloes went down to Matt Rhule's team, which could be an ominous sign for the team.

While much attention has been given to the weak offensive line for the loss, a costly blunder from Colorado's own one-yard line resulted in an easy score for Nebraska in the first quarter. The Buffs signal caller floated a pass, which was intercepted by Cornhuskers defenseman Tommi Hill, who rushed for a touchdown.

Talking about the blunder, Shedeur Sanders partly blamed wide receiver Drelon Miller while also acknowledging that they need to avoid it in future games.

"A lot," Shedeur said while talking about an early game blunder. "It was just a rookie mistake, honestly. That's what it was.
"So it's small things like that. They're things that just can't happen, truthfully. But stuff happens, so we just got to bounce back from it and learn from that situation and just be ready for it."

Shedeur Sanders throws his offensive line under the bus

Not everything went according to plan in Colorado's loss to Nebraska Cornhuskers. The first half was as terrible as it could have got, with Colorado's offense not scoring a field goal.

The overhauled offensive linemen were unable to give Shedeur Sanders enough time to get the ball to his route runners, leading him to get sacked multiple times and getting hurried to throw passes.

The quarterback compared his offensive line to that of the Cornhuskers, indirectly blaming them for shortcomings on offense.

“How many times did (Dylan) Raiola get touched?”

One way to evade those incoming heavy defenders is for the signal caller to rush himself. However, Shedeur Sanders put a negative yardage (-30 yards on eight carries) in the run game too.

That even reflected in the overall statistics, which showed the Buffaloes rushing for only 16 yards in the entire game, compared to the Huskers rushing for 149 yards.

It seems Shedeur needs to work his run game if the offensive line continues to falter, a sentiment shared by many analysts.
