Carson Beck expresses confidence in Kirby Smart's Georgia team as they approach the 2024 season. Heading into the season, many expect Georgia to win another title and remain contenders under Coach Smart.
Analysts predict Beck could be a top contender for the Heisman Trophy this December. However, Beck was humble when asked about it at the Manning Passing Academy over the weekend.
“It’s 100 percent a team trophy,” Beck said, according to an On3 report. “Obviously as a quarterback, my success is very much dependent on the offensive line, it’s very much dependent on how our running backs play, it’s very much dependent on if our defense can get stops, it’s very much dependent on if our wide receivers can go make contested catches and get open.”
“At the end of the day, it very much is a team-oriented award,” he added. “It’s not my main goal, but if I was able to get there, obviously it’d be a dream come true.”
Beck, whose NIl valuation is $1.6 million (per On3), isn't alone in helping Georgia aim high in 2024. Georgia's 2024 ambitions are bolstered by returning wide receivers Dominic Lovett, Dillon Bell, Rara Thomas, Arian Smith, and tight end Oscar Delp. Roderick Robinson and Anthony Evans are also slated to assume more significant roles at running back and receiver.
Star quarterback, Beck said timing and relationships between quarterbacks and receivers are crucial.
“It’s such a huge part of football: timing, quarterback and receiver relationships and connection, knowing how one person is going to run a route compared to another person,” Beck said.
“Coming into my second year as a starter and having a lot of those guys coming back that I was able to get chemistry with and start to build that relationship with over last year, having another offseason to really work with them, to really build that connection going into the season, it definitely adds a comfortability that almost wasn’t there before,” he added.
Carson Beck and the Bulldogs start their season on Aug. 31 against Clemson Tigers, the ACC frontrunner.

Carson Beck and Bulldogs HC Kirby Smart hailed as the number one head coach
Georgia football head coach Kirby Smart is now ranked as the top head coach in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Under his leadership, Georgia's strong recruiting efforts have kept the Bulldogs performing at a high level each year, despite the changes brought by the transfer portal.
BS Sports released its rankings list, and Coach Smart was ranked number one. They note that with Nick Saban's retirement, there's a significant gap in power, and Smart, a former Saban student, is poised to fill it.
According to the report, only a few can match Smart's accomplishments, including back-to-back national titles in 2021 and 2022. The Bulldogs are regular contenders in the College Football Playoff under Smart, who excels at bringing in top talent from both high schools and the transfer portal.
