Travis Hunter has been able to establish himself as one of College Football's best players in recent years due to his strong presence on both offense and defense. He is expected to be a high first-round pick when he enters the NFL in 2025.

The 2012 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel gave his thoughts about what position Hunter should play when he gets to the NFL. He told Action Network on Tuesday:

“I would think he (Travis Hunter) would be on the defensive side of the ball. That’s the best attribute that he has. I think he’s an absolutely, top-notch cornerback, a guy who’s gonna continue to grow into that position as well...It’s very different when you get to that league and to that level. But I think he’ll play corner, and I think he’ll be really, really good at it.”

Whichever position that Travis Hunter plays in, he is likely to succeed.

However, while it may be a logical decision to play as a Wide Receiver, especially with the NFL's turn to a more offensive-minded style of play, Manziel thinks Hunter should go onto the defense.

By focusing on one position, Travis Hunter will be able to easily adapt to the NFL and quickly become the star player that many are saying that he could be.

NFL Scouts have their say on which position Travis Hunter should play

There is a debate between NFL scouts and the team's coaches on which position would suit Travis Hunter best. Some, like this scout from an unnamed NFC South team, think that his best position is at Cornerback:

"He's a good player on both sides, but his upside at corner is tremendous."

While the teams have not yet been able to agree which position would be best for Travis Hunter, they all agree that he is a very good player and someone who they want on their team.
