Arch Manning has impressed many college football fans with his performance on the gridiron this season. The quarterback has started the last two games for Texas in the absence of injured Quinn Ewers. However, his celebratory dance steps have also got people talking.
Peyton Manning appeared on a recent installment of the “Kay & Adam Show” to discuss Arch Manning’s rising college career. He was asked by Adams if the dancing moves recently seen in Arch run in the family as none of Peyton and Eli Manning were known for that.
“It's not in my genes," said Peyton of Arch's dance moves. "It's nowhere in my system by any means. Cooper, Arch's dad, was a great athlete, was a good dancer, was a cool brother growing up. I think Arch got a lot of that from his dad.
“Real proud of him, went down and saw him a play a couple of weeks ago in his first start. I was glad to be there. Pull hard for him every single Saturday. Cooper's done a great job just kind of mentoring him and it’s been fun to watch”
Peyton Manning discloses the kind of support Arch Manning gets from the family
Despite the prominent Manning name on Arch's jersey, Peyton emphasized that Arch receives the same level of family support as any other player. He also joked that he is not always the most helpful resource, indicating that his nephew might benefit more from guidance at Texas.
"Just like any college quarterback that has support from their family, their uncles, that's what we do," Peyton said. "Like I said, we pull hard for him, try to be there when he has a conversation.
“I think he regrets sometimes reaching out to me. I think this past spring, he called or texted me a question about the two-minute drill, and three eight-minute voice memos later that I left him, he was like, you know what, I probably could get this information somewhere else.”
Quinn Ewers is expected to take back the starting role for Texas when he returns from injury. However, it's going to be Arch Manning's team next season when Ewers eventually transitions to the professional stage.
