The No. 15 Boise State Broncos, led by sensational running back Ashton Jeanty, continued to make a strong case for the Mountain West championship game. Their latest triumph was a blowout 56-24 win over the San Diego State Aztecs in Week 10 of college football action, on Nov. 2.

Jeanty registered 149 rushing yards, resulting in two touchdowns for his eighth consecutive 100+ yard game.

Jeanty is currently listed as the second favorite to win the Heisman Trophy, behind Colorado Buffaloes star Travis Hunter, by On3. Completing the top three is Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward, who has led his team to an unbeaten season so far.

Fans of Ashton Jeanty on X had mixed reactions to the new Heisman favorite rankings.

The Jeanty fandom did not take the rankings lying down, instead championing their own candidate.

"Anyone but Jeanty at #1 is ridiculous," one fan tweeted.
"Jeanty at 1," another fan tweeted.
"It’s Jeanty, no debate," one fan tweeted.

Ashton Jeanty makes his case for the Heisman over Travis Hunter

The Ashton Jeanty versus Travis Hunter for the Heisman Trophy debate has captured the attention of the nation. During an appearance on the "Deestroying" podcast, the Boise State Broncos running back talked about his battle with the two-way star.

"Kudos to Travis, he's balling for real. He's doing some stuff we ain't ever seen nobody do. Personally, I don't take no offense to it. He's just speaking his opinion, everybody's got an opinion," Jeanty said. "For me, what I've been doing hasn't been done in 36, 37 years, so that's something special.
"If I keep that up and break a record that's been around for 36 years, I feel like you can't really compete with that. He is balling, but I just feel like what I'm doing is just too special."

Jeanty is on course to break Barry Sanders' long-standing FBS record for rushing touchdowns, set in the 1988 season, with the Oklahoma State Cowboys. It led to a Heisman win, a fact that is fueling the Broncos running back's bid for the individual accolade.

During an appearance on the "Outta Pocket with RGIII" podcast, the Buffs two-way star seemed to take a shot at Jeanty's quest for the Heisman Trophy.

"I don't know who is all there," Hunter said. "You all see Ashton Jeanty, but it is not like we haven't seen a good running back that is good. We haven't seen a player that has played both ways, and I'm going to keep saying that."

Travis Hunter currently has the edge in the race for the Heisman Trophy over Ashton Jeanty. But with both teams still in the running for postseason honors, the race is far from over.
