In his session with the media on Tuesday, HC Ryan Day quickly asserted that there isn't any additional pressure on him and his team ahead of the upcoming season. He emphasized that the expectations remain high against their fierce rival, regardless of the circumstances.

“It’s just the truth,” Day said. “At my (introductory) press conference, I said you’ve got to beat the ‘Team Up North’ and win every game other than that. When you come up short, you’ve got to figure out a way to get those things fixed. I think we have done that.”

“But the expectations are the same every year. The pressure’s the same every year. I just like the pressure when you’ve got a really good team behind you. That’s what we’ve got right now,” he added.

Ryan Day has done well to improve the program

With the 2024 college football season fast approaching, Ohio State is one of the teams that has made the most improvements this offseason. The Buckeyes have added a host of new top players from high school and the transfer portal as well as new coaching staff.

Will Ohio State win the national championship in 2024?

After Michigan ended up with the national championship in the 2023 season, the pressure immediately fell on Ohio State. The expectation around Columbus is for the Buckeyes to match the feat of its long-term fierce rival in the upcoming season.

Without a doubt, the current Buckeyes setup is built to win the national championship. With a strong lineup, they have a realistic shot at achieving this goal in the upcoming season. They are also considered second-favorite by sportsbooks’ odds to win the title, behind Georgia.
